United Way Milton Christmas House Tour
With November now upon us, have you been wondering how to get yourself into the holiday spirit? Are you searching for a source of yuletide inspiration? Among your many seasonal projects of baking, house parties, and gift giving, are you speculating about what theme you’ll choose for this year’s holiday décor?
The United Way Milton Christmas House Tour (November 21-22, 2014) is just the event. Presented by Springridge Farm, the annual tour is a perfect way to launch the holiday season. The tour highlights six homes in the region, which are professionally decorated in inspired designs that will entice you and have you dreaming about your own holiday traditions. The best part is that you can transform those festive visions and make them your own reality, all the while supporting a charitable cause.
United Way Milton (UWM) is on a mission. In partnership with twenty-nine local services organizations, UWM helps fund the development of happy and healthy children, stronger families and safer neighbourhoods, teen mentorship, senior independence, and assistance for people who are rebuilding their lives. Through the committed generosity of the community, UWM raised a record $710,000 in 2013.
As Milton’s community grows, so does the need for services and support. Your ticket purchase for the Christmas House Tour helps contribute to the estimated $48,000 raised for local United Way partners every year which helps to fund 1 in 4 Milton families.
The tour features two separate events. Friday evening, November 21, 2014, is an opportunity to get your friends together for a one-of-a-kind evening out. Your journey will begin at Springridge Farm where you’ll savour a light dinner before being escorted in a limo bus to the featured homes. The tour ends back at Springridge Farm, and there you can sip a glass of wine, while browsing through the store and bakery.
The Saturday daytime tour, November 22, 2014, is self-guided and flexible way to take the tour of spectacularly decorated homes with your friends in your own car and at your own speed. Make a leisurely day of it – start your morning at a café, sipping your coffee as you peruse the map outlining the featured homes. Visit a few homes and then stop for lunch at a local eatery, chatting about the designs you’ve seen and making notes on your favourites. Remember to leave a little time for shopping – many of the items that you will see on the tour are available for purchase at local retailers.
Whether you choose to make it a Friday evening out or a Saturday daytime jaunt, the Christmas House Tour is the ultimate way to kick off the holiday season in style!
