The Community Foundation of Halton North has been providing grants to charities in Milton and Halton Hills since 2015. The Foundation has granted over 1.5 million dollars since it’s start and over $700,000 in 2023. The organization enables donors to give to their favorite causes for years to come, a donation in the foundation is invested and never spent, it keeps earning interest year after year. On December 12th they held a Celebration of Philanthropy at their offices in Milton. Bringing donors, fundholders and grantees in 2023 together serving warm drinks and snacks and talking about the year of good works.

“It’s been a great year, and a demonstration of that year Sue has something to show everybody just how much the foundation has distributed in 2023” opened Darryl Demille (Board member) as Sue Lawrenson then showed a giant cheque showing the $713,000 delivered to non-profit that year.


“That’s what we are doing, that’s what we need to build. Build endowments every year so we will have that income into your organizations, and we are glad to help you with that” continued Demille. The Foundation is continuing their mission to contribute to the quality of life of Milton and Halton Hills residents by building endowment funds and creating opportunities philanthropic leadership.
